According to my mom I’ve been creative most of my life. The
first memory I have of my creativity was from when I was two years old. My mom
and I were in a mommy and me music class together. I remember them telling my
mom I was an advanced musician and that I could move up from the 2-year-old
class to the three-year-old class. My mom was amazed how well and how musical I
was so she moved me up to the three year old class. Sadly though I was unable
to really participate in the class because that was the time I normally took a
nap. So we ended up going back to the 2-year-old class. My mom tells me that,
that class was the first thing to bring my creativity out.
My creative ambition in life is to make an album. I don’t
care if I personally am singing on an album but I would at least like to write
and produce songs with someone. I’ve been writing and singing since I was about
12 years old. I’ve never sung one of the songs I have written out in public
though. Singing other peoples songs seems to be much easier for me. I’ve been
in vocal groups where other people have written songs and have had no problem
singing them. The problem with me performing my songs is that when it comes to
my music I am a perfectionist. It is my barrier in life. I’ve had opportunities
in my life to perform my own music but I have never manned up and done it. I
take voice lessons from Melissa Mulligan and she has had so many opportunities
for me to perform my music. I’ve only done it once and it was the scariest
experience I’ve had in my entire life. I only sang the song in front of my
vocal coach, and her assistants Nick and Chelsea. I hope that I can eventually
sing my songs in front of larger crowds.
